I am curious as to how accurate the information provided over the phone on delayed orders are informed. When I called in last week, they told me 6/11, but when I called today, I was told 6/21.

    So,
    Ordered: 5/24
Expected date: 8/29 (hasn't changed yet for me)
    Told by phone: 6/21

The other threads about delays discuss the dates, but I am receiving conflicting information by phone each time and I just don't want to call in again to be on hold for a while and receive another answer.

In my experiance the CSR's are not reliable. As far as I can tell Lenovo is incapable of giving reliable shipping dates, either over the phone or online. If you need the computer soon I would buy it from a retailer like newegg or pcconnection, if not be prepared to wait, maybe up to 2 to 3 months (some people on this board have had to wait that long). Then again it may ship tomorrow, there's just no telling with Lenovo.

Eh, if it means anything I was told my Dell monitor was on an additional 2-3 week backorder. But then it shipped the same day I was informed of that delay :confused2:

I know it's the Levono forum, but still a good story to emphasize the above post.

This makes me wonder why they are giving these outrageous figures. My company does more business than Dell and Lenovo combined, but when we say our shipping dates are off and we have to provide additional information, it is maybe additional delay of 48 hours or less. Granted, we are not building anything from scratch, but these delays can be narrowed down to a few days, not a few weeks.
If it was announced to be released and the release date is delayed, that is udnerstandable, but this is too much.

I don't mind delays if the company keeps you informed about whats going on. The latest example of bad service I experienced was waiting for the Vista Express Upgrade from Dell. We all knew there were problems with some models that were delaying the shipping, but all we heard from Dell was that the orders were being shipped in the order received and to be patient. We knew it was garbage but Dell perpetrated it for weeks. When they finally explained the problem I we were much more understanding.

Wait so you were actually upset that Vista didn't take over your computer fast enough? :)

I've spoken to 4 different reps since last tuesday and all 4 have given me a different answer.

    1st time: 10 business days
    2nd time: 2-3 weeks
    3rd time: june 8th
4th time: a batch is getting shipped out on the 13th and yours might in that shipment.

I don't believe any of them.

It was a matter of being promised something and getting bogus or no information when they don't deliver. I"ve been running Vista since Jan here at work and haven't had too many issues - but I don't push this machine very hard.

Same for me at work...we were forced into Vista but there is really no occasion for me to push the machine very hard.

I put my Vista machine through hell every day in work and it's rock solid. I did make sure that all my drivers were signed though before I installed them.
