I am thinking about ordering a thinkpad but wanted ask you guys a question about the shipping time of pre-configured thinkpads. Will they take the same amount of time to ship as the stories I've read about shipping on this forum?

Also another question I have is will it be difficult at all to change to a bigger hard drive once I receive my thinkpad?

supposedly the pre-configured models are quicker than the custom configured ones. Somebody here ordered one that said something like "Buy today, ship today" and it did indeed arrive soon after.

Physically the hard drive should be easy to replace, however some models don't like various hard drives.

If you are getting a T60 or X60 you are probably going to have to wait a bit.

From my latest experience with a custom z60m, it was a painful 2 month wait. They told me 4 weeks minimum for ANY custom model, but combine that with new models and the wait gets painful.

If its anything new (60 series), get an "express" or preconfigured model.
