Is anyone else pissed off at how much more lenovo charges for thinkpads on its Canada site than the USA site? Dell does this too with coupon codes that are only valid for its USA site.

If anyone knows of some good Canadian sites to buy a lenovo from I'd love to hear about it. I'm trying to find an X60 at a good price. I know that some people living in Canada buy from american sites but that presents its own challenges with customs and warrantees.

    www.visaperks.ca

If you have a VISA, you can buy a ThinkPad 20% off from there I believe.

The VisaPerks deal only applies to 2nd (and soon to be 3rd) generation old stock Thinkpads, and Lenovo's own line of lower-quality computers.

Pretty much the same deal with all canadian retailers. You may find the occasional dual core Thinkpad, but they are few, far, and expensive inbetween.

Actually, I just quoted the X60 (17023QU) for 30% off the regular price through the visaperks website.

There are a lot of T60s and X60s available through the visaperks website.

20% or 30% off the VisaPerks prices? Or the prices on the Web site are the final prices to pay?

If it's the former case, I'd be tempted to get a ThinkPad from Canada.

I have been debating purchasing a laptop through visaperks.ca and have found one selling for $1999.99 which retails for over $3000 on the regular ibm.ca website. Could you please explain what you mean by "2nd generation" ibm laptops and why you perceive this as such a negative impact?

Also does anyone know if there is the same lenovo 30 day return policy through visaperks ?

    Thanks for all advice.

That's interesting. Can you tell me how you got to the page with the T60s and stuff? I'm finding Lenovo's website pretty difficult to navigate.

Lenovo website prices in canada are often negotiable. For example, right now ask if they can do something about the price as a "month-end incentive".
Prices are way too high there compared to the US site or other companies.
Sounds like 30% off T60's at visaperks is better tho.

    Hello,

Thank you for contacting Lenovo, the makers of ThinkPad
    and ThinkCentre products.

    1) Purchasing with visa does not prevent you from qualifying for the
    30 day money back guarantee.

    ------------------------------------------------------------

This is the answer I got from Lenovo.
