this topic is regarding lenovo`s returns policy and order cancellation
First I ordered a laptop on Nov 25. The next day they dropped prices on that model and so I reordered second time on Nov 26 and called lenovo to cancel the order. First time I called the CR told me it is canceled. But knowing what I have learned from others experiences I called in again and the guy had no idea that the order was canceled, so he again canceled it. Next day again I call and give the CR the order number and he comes back to me saying "dint you call in yesterday to cancel this order ?" I said "yes.....but is it canceled ? " ......he had no idea why it wasn't. Finally he was able to get me to sales department to cancel the order.
And it was shown online that the order is canceled.
Now again on Nov 29 I changed my mind and decided to cancel the Nov 26 order and order a different configuration.Hence I placed my third order. I called in again and had to call in 2-3 times till my order status online showed invalid order. So over this weekend I have again changed what I want and reordered the second order......the fourth time.......![]()
I know some of you might think i am a lunatic(which I agree I am) but well now I am where I am. I am just wondering if I get any of those laptops on my door should I receive them and then do RMA return or I should just not accept the order. If I go thru RMA process wouldnt I be charged for 15% restocking even though I canceled the order before hand ?

Try hard to make sure all orders you don't want are cancelled before they are shipped (obviously). If they're cancelled before shipped, you don't pay.
Just in case something did slip through and winds up at your doorstep, try to remember the names of the people you talked to, or at least keep track of the times that you called, so when you argue with them later you'll have your facts straight. You should have a good case.
Based on the timing, I don't think they would have shipped any of the orders prior your attempts to cancel each. By the way, I think you always get an email from Lenovo when they ship. If you haven't received that email, you're probably fine.
We're all lunatics sometimes, don't kick yourself too much. I'm sure they've seen it all.
When they ship an order and have it returned, even if unopened, it costs them something, especially for more unique configurations. If they're getting too many cases like that, they have to start putting their foot down. Personally, if something is returned unopened, and the customer is still ordering another laptop from them, I think they should cap the cost at $50. If opened, and nothing wrong with the item, 10 to 15% is probably about right????? -
Even if one of your "canceled" orders gets to your doorstep, I would accept the package. Call them up and get them to issue an RMA number. Originally, if you were to reject the package, they would take it back and issue you a refund within 30 days.
However, when people started getting impatient with the labor day sale earlier this year, people were purchasing laptops from resellers like newegg and cdw with stock configs so they get their t61's a bit faster and would just reject delivery from the lenovo unit from the factory.
Lenovo caught onto this and started implementing a restocking fee. So the bottom line is....make sure you accept the package and get an RMA number and explain yourself, before you start seeing mysterious charges on your CC statement. -
Ok then. I would accept it if I get it. By the way on the order i chose UPS ground but from others experience it doesn't seem like they are shipping ground...........coz if it was ground shipping they would just leave it at your doorsteps during working hrs and so anyone wont even have a chance to accept or reject it. Also I am worried if my ordered configuration comes during Christmas time and they leave it at my doorsteps then i am screwed coz I wont be home and I dont know anyone around to hold it for me. Can you confirm if they need signature or not ?

it takes up to 3 days for the order to cancel....to make sure your order has been canclled...do a status check on the order and it won't exist anymore...if it stil does..it hasn't been cancled
if it still ships to you..accept it...and DO NOT OPEN IT...they will only charge restocking if you open it...just tell them that u canceled it and it shipped anyhow...they will issue you a rma and email you a label...just drop it off at a ups store and make sure u get a receipt indicating that u dropped it off -
thanks for the info.
Should I be worried ?
