Should I buy a refub X220 online or over the phone?

I tried to buy a refub X220 from Lenovo online yesterday but it didn't go through. A "Can't order an invalid item" message appears after I click the "buy" button.

I am wondering if it's better just to buy over the phone.

I need this machine to play 1080P videos on my projector. I don't need HD4000 for this, right?

    Thanks.

It's probably because the laptop is already sold to someone else, their website doesn't reflect the real time inventory very well. You don't need HD4000 to play 1080p video.

If someone else adds the laptop to their cart, while you are looking at it, then you might get an error. The cart times out in 15 mins. If you are lucky and the other person has not ordered the laptop, it should get released back to the 'in stock' list. I generally give it 30mins. I ordered a refurb x220 and have been checking on the status constantly. This is what I've noticed. My laptop was shown as 'out of stock' after I had ordered it. However, it was completely removed from the list when it was shipped. Hope this makes sense.

I don't think ordering over the phone makes any difference. They get to see the same stock position. I see that most of the laptops are out of stock. At least the X series. Usually, when this happens, more items get added to the outlet stock. Keep checking the particular model that you are looking for, at least twice a day. Don't forget to check the prices of the new laptops as well. Some of the prices on the outlet are absurd and more than the new laptops.
