This is the best deal I've seen from the time I started looking for a notebook. The thing is, I don't really need a laptop right now, but I will later around July/August when I start college. Should I wait for new products to come out, the Y550?, and hope for another deal or buy this now?

I would say it is a good deal, but it depends on what you want - if the Ideapad Y550 (coming in March) suits your needs better, wait for it. But don't expect huge discounts on that line right at release.
Intel, however, will not be releasing a new platform until late late 2009 or early 2010, from what it seems. So the Thinkpad line will likely not receive a refresh. -
You might want to upgrade the battery to 9-cell. The rest looks fine.
Also upgrade the combo drive to DVD writer. No one uses compo nowadays.
Also is that include coupons? Because Lenovo gives out coupons frequently.
Should I buy the T500 now?
