Office depot is selling a 14" i5 Lenovo Edge for $599. They will also give me an additional $30 off with my office max coupon bringing the price down to 569 plus tax. Any opinions on this laptop? Is this a good price?

I do not know much about the edge, but here are some general advice:
    1. Do you need a laptop?
    2. What are your needs for your laptop/what do you plan on using the laptop for?

I do know that all thinkpads are solid and I suggest your go to the store and see if you can type on the island style keyboard and general feel of the laptop. If you enjoy the laptop and plan to watch youtube videos/HD video, web browsing, documents, then yes, the laptop is works for you.

Computerneb- Thanks for your comments. Yes, I do need a laptop for small business purposes... to do book keeping; some website edting; and to have access to my email when I'm traveling. I was originally considering a 15.5 " z560 ideapad with an i3 processor, but now I'm considering this Thinkpad edge, which will also be better for travel purposes.

I guess what I'm asking is if this laptop is a good value, reliable etc, etc.... Thanks again.

I bought my wife a 15" Edge with the i3 processor and it is a nice, solid system. It does everything she needs it to do: Office 2010, online work (she is a teacher that needs to access her school's web server from home), email, etc. I was pleasantly surprised how well the standard wireless card connected in our house. I have an access point and the connection anywhere in our house is amazing. The keyboard is very good.

I looked at the configuration of the Edge you linked us to and that is a excellent deal especially by the fact that it has the i5, 4 gigs of RAM and a 500 gig harddrive. You can't configure this system for less on Lenovo's site.

By the way, the 14" Edge with the Intel processor is a best seller as per Lenovo. For what you want to do this should do you fine.

    lol :D

riva2, could you post some real life pictures of your laptop and little bit of user experience impressions :D? Battery life?
Such info is always welcome, especially with models that are less discussed here :)
