    Should I change my T400 to non-Wimax?

    Do you think Wimax will be available in the US soon?

    I would say go with Wimax if you can get it. If you really want your laptop soon, then choose 5300 instead.
    I believe it'll take a year and half from now for Wimax to be widely available.

    yeah, unless you live in baltimore, it'll be a while b/f wimax is widely available.

    wimax is pointless. i'd be surprised if it was widespread 10 years from now let alone the next few years.

    Wimax is started in India and the speeds are good. I like Wimax because you can get internet on the go with very competitive prices ( about $30 a month) without signing any 2 yr. contract. Also you don't have to buy a mobile broadband modem that's locked to the carrier. Instead one Wimax card can work with many providers. :)

    i think the technology is new, and you will be replacing your laptop before it becomes mainstream...that's if it ever takes off.
