I already have a 2 year warranty including my AMEX 1 year extended warranty.

I heard that if something is going to go wrong, it will happen in the first two years.

Lenovo has a 30% sale on extended warranties.

I can get a three year for $80.00

    A two year is $50.00

    Get it!
I have the 3 year accidental protection warranty.
I am in the 3rd year and I am getting my T410 replaced with a T420s.

    That's was worth the $160 I paid :D

extra warranty on any computer is pretty much waste of money. If something is wrong with the computer then you'll find out within the first month.

    It depends on:

    1) The failure rate. (For the T520 this doesn't seem to be abnormally high.)

    2) The cost of failures. (Only you can answer this.)

    3) How easily you can get parts. (Same.)

    4) How comfortable you are with repairing your laptop. (Same, although the T520 is a *very* accessible design compared to some of its predecessors.)

For some of my laptops I have extended, on-site warranties. For others, I have a good screwdriver, a solid knowledge of their assembly, and a line on a couple good parts dealers.

Would they replace your laptop if you happen to break it in the 3rd year or so (assuming having the protection package)
