Well I've been looking into some accessories I might want to get for my T61 that is arriving soon, and the mini dock seemed compelling. Now, I never saw much use for a dock solution for laptops, but it seems like when all you have is a laptop, it might come in kind of handy. If I understand correctly, it will add digital audio ports, a DVI connector, and more USB ports? And I can just situate the laptop on it and I'm good to go?
Also, how will the laptop fit on it if I have a protruding 6-cell battery? Will it fit no problems, or will I have to remove the battery before setting it down? Let me know about your experiences with it, because I feel kinda naked going to college with just a laptop and no desktop, guess I'm just too used to a desktop!
Edit!: Any pictures of the dock, and/or the T61 on the dock would be HIGHLY appreciated.![]()

yes, the advanced mini dock will add all of the above and keep all of the ports on your computer working as well. You don't have to remove any batteries when setting your computer on the dock as they have cut out a space in the back in case you have extended batteries.

I recently got the dock just for the DVI. Pricy but I found a decent deal at $124 shipped for a brand new one on ebay. I only wish it had a cable cover like the Dell docks, but my cables are a mess anyway.

Wow thanks. MaxGeek those pictures were awesome! I've decided I definitely need one, will make things a lot easier. I was thinking of also getting a second charger, so I could leave one plugged in the dock the whole time and have another to carry with me. That's all gonna depend on the disbursement of my scholarship money later on in the fall = P
Thanks a lot. Will appreciate any other opinions/pics of the mini dock! -
I think it should come with its own power adapter. If you're a student and you move your machine around a bit I absolutely recommend a docking station. When I bought my Compaq Evo before my freshman year of college, HP threw in a dock as a deal sweetener to beat Dell's offered D600. I didn't think much of it until I got it set up, but now I won't buy a laptop without one, you can just leave all your cables plugged into the dock and not worry about them. Definately get the Advanced Mini-dock, you'll be glad you did.

Yes it should come with an extra charger. I've seen some for sale that don't though.
I was thinking of selling the extra charger and getting the Lenovo 90w slim charger. I don't really need it though. -
I use the advanced minidock, check my sig, great bit of kit.
Can confirm it comes with another power adapter.
Should I get the Advanced Mini Dock?
