I found a T60 on ebay and it seems to be a good deal: http://cgi.ebay.com/IBM-Lenovo-T60-2-2-GHz-DUAL-CORE-LOOK-NO-RES_W0QQitemZ320018104986QQihZ011QQcategoryZ140083QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem
Since it's a 15" SXGA+ I'm assuming this T60 has the Flexview monitor? This seems too cheap to be legit. I normally avoid big purchases on ebay, but I see no other way to get a Flewview IPS screen on a T60 spec'd the way I'd want for under $1800 after taxes and shipping. I'm just a poor college student. Should I get this or wait until lenovo comes out with some special deals on T60s with Flexview?

Many colleges offers students equally good deals (below employee cost) on this model (or very similar) which are genuine products... check your college store.
the ebay one could be good... but it could also be used, stolen, broken, who knows.
I have had 3 scam ebay purchases... the last one, the internal components had actually been swapped out with substantially inferior ones LOL -
You can email the seller to ask for the serial number and check the warranty status on Lenovo' site. If you do buy I would suggest paying with a credit card via Paypal. It will offer more recourse should an issue arise. Give it a thorough vetting once you get it. A couple of fishy things about it, on the top is says DVD+/-RW, but in the description says combo drive, 16" screen and for someone with 6 feedbacks, they want 10 feedback score to bid? There is a 15" T60 here, keeping in mind there are no return from CostCentral. You may want to ask if it is FlexView. There has been some dispute as to whether the newer 15" T60s are FlexView. We tried to clear this up with Lenovo, but they were unfortunetly not very helpful on this point. The college store is a good idea. Usually the best way to get a deal on a Thinkpad is to know someone who works there giving you access to EPP. Hope this helps. Good Luck.

I believe that the label in the pic says 2007-94u, which means the resolution processor and HD size is incorrectly specified in the listing.
And one day listing? ... Smells fishy, be careful. -

My campus bookstore seems to only sell apple or dell notebooks, at least according to the website. Well, I guess I'm just going to wait until merom comes out and hope there's a sale. Either wait or settle for a regular T60 screen. I'm just afraid getting the regular T60 screen will be too dim, especially with what other people are saying about the regular screen compared to the flexview. Anyways, thanks for the help SkiBunny and ZaZ. I'm set on getting a lenovo. Don't want a dell, even if I have to pay a premium for a thinkpad
.

It's not too dim! TIt's just the viewing angles aren't the greatest.
If you never put the screen beside a flexview or a TruBrite, you'll never know the difference.
(personally i dislike glossy screens anyway).
There's really nothing objectionable with the screen... so dont let that stop you from getting a fine laptop overall (per the various professional reviews).
And those apple notebooks at your camputs bookstore are super. -
Oh some idiot bought it already.
That was a UXGA screen... if you haven't seen one yet, dont buy it until you do. Some ppl (me too) think the resolution is too small.
No loss missing out on this one... there's always another computer
Should I get this T60 from ebay?
