A. It's not urgent to get a laptop now. I'm looking at getting a new one within 12 months from now.
B. Why I'm interested in the t550s
- Advertises long battery
- Numpad
- Keyboard Trackball/trackpad with physical buttons
- 15 inch
- Has displayport and VGA I believe
My questions in addition to the title of the post:
1. How do I check if the current T550s are broadwell or haswell? On the lenovo website I just see core i5
2. Will skylake be a significant battery improvement over broadwell/haswell? Application: running around, going from lab to office hours throughout a day at university. I hope to not have to plug in. Numpad is key- I will be typing numbers alot
3. I'm planning on using something called Slidenjoy which allows you to attach two USB monitors to the screen. What could go wrong in my plan?
4. Are there good reasons in your opinion not to get the t550s? Is its performance actually very bad? Are there other good 15 inch with numpad trackball/trackpad w/ buttons with long battery life and replaceable battery?

If you need (or even want) VGA, waiting for Skylake is not really necessary, as Skylake models won´t feature VGA.
Should I wait for skylake for the t550s?
