i paid $973 including tax paying with my amex and it seems like this isn't really a good deal. I thought it was, but some people are saying there will be a bargain on this coming labor day.My ESD is 09/06 and i think it is fine to wait for another month. What should i do? sorry because of my poor english. Thanks!!

Yeah whatever get a refund. It's obvious you don't really need it now anyway so just get it when you absolutely need it.

I agree with Johnny (Why did you change your name?). He has a link in his sig relating to special pricing / deals as well, one of which involves using your AmEx ;)...

If you're always waiting on tomorrow, you'll miss out on yesterday.

that quote sums it up entirely.

I mean only reason you should wait is if a NEW model is on the horizon. All you're doing is depriving yourself of the machine you're paying good money for.

Pull the trigger, and remember the ESD is pushed back a month for ALL orders...you'll get the beast in 2 weeks or less!

That IS a pretty good price. You may do a bit better but not by a significant amount. There is no guarantee you will do better in the near future. Look at what others have paid for Thinkpads in past months to put it in perspective - you have nothing to be unhappy about as far as price goes.

My suggestion: stop torturing yourself for a few dollars. Keep your order.

Lenovo has kind of price Adjustment program , i Think you have 21 days after shipping your system , so in case of any price changes during that period you can call them and they will refund your money , I already did it once but it was one day before shipping my system and i got the refund , what you need to do is configure your new system instead of check out choose request a quote option and you will get an e-mail with a confirmation number then call lenovo and give them that # and they will refund your money ( make sure to print that request a quote page or copy (control + print screen then paste it with to your office word ) and keep it

You don't even have to worry about getting a refund - if it hasn't shipped then you haven't been charged for it. All you have to do is call them and cancel the order. (You'll probably have to call a couple days later to make sure they really did cancel it.)

But, as others have said you're probably better off just keeping the order if you want a T61. You got a pretty good deal, and even if a better one does come along you can always price match. If you don't like your current configuration, that's another matter. You can always resubmit with different parameters, but then be prepared to wait.
