What do I do? No package on my door no package anywhere.

Was the delivery signed by a neighbor?
-
Was this delivered to a work address or a home address? I would contact UPS about this.
-
When I took receipt of my T61p, although I requested it up front, the shipper would not leave it at the front door because of the possibility of theft. Are you saying that you are at a business and it appears to have been left and no one signed for it?
-
I live at a campus-owned apartment complex and it was supposed to be delivered today. I was awake at 9:00 - 9:45 before I left for class and I got a delivery notification at 9:27 saying it was delivered. It was signed by "ding" which after researching means it was left on the door step. I can't believe they would actually leave a package this expensive without a signature. I knocked on every single door in my hall way asking if someone has seen the package and no one has I honestly don't think anyone on this floor at least would have stolen it.
I have contacted UPS and talked to them and they don't know what has gone wrong and are supposed to call me back within the hour.
I am EXTREMELY worried. -
That's why I never have anything delivered to campus dorms/apartments. I'd rather have them ship the item to my parents' house and pick it up on the weekend.
I hope you get your laptop back. Good luck. -
+1, I do this to my parents all the time.
-
I lived at a campus university apartments also.
Go to your shipping receiving department at your school. If its a schools address UPS/FedEx WILL NOT deliver to your doorstep.
Most likely your school signed for it and you just have to pick it up at the schools shipping/receiving area.
At least thats how it was at my school. -
That was my first thought so I walked over there and checked and then called half an hour later. No dice.
Still waiting on UPS to call me back.
Normally would do that but my parents live 250 miles away so... yeah. -
I know you've called, but I'd be back on the phone to UPS.
Do you actually have a delivery slip?
Recently there was a newspaper article about someone who worked for FEDEX. He stole between ten and twenty laptops from his own FEDEX truck. -
I have no delivery slip I have nothing at all besides an electronic email telling me that the item was "delivered" at 9:27 am this morning.
I got a call back from UPS a couple of minutes ago telling me that they delivered it to the wrong address and a "supervisor" would go pick it up and deliver it to me. I have a hard time believing that as I took it upon myself to drive to the address they "mistakenly delivered" it to and alas it does not exist.
For anyone who has been in this situation what are the proper steps for resolving this? Do I need to contact Lenovo and hold them responsible for not getting my item delivered to me? Is UPS responsible and I hold them accountable? Who do I start putting heat on? I have notified my credit card company of this transaction letting them know the circumstances at this moment so if I don't get a laptop that charge will be disputed. Anything else I should be doing like calling Lenovo? -
Inform Lenovo. I don't think they are responsible, I believe UPS is.
When you have any and all interaction with UPS, be sure to get the full name of the person you are talking to. -
I am going to wait until about 5 or 6 before I contact Lenovo just to see if the package does in fact show up. I have learned my lessons previously when dealing with customer service to always get the name... they tend to tell the truth and not dick around when they know I know who they are.
I guess now I just wait.
You know I love Lenovo and IBM products but I, nor any member of my family, have ever had a hiccup-free ordering experience from them. I know this isn't their fault though. -
Right now, Lenovo is responsible for getting you a working notebook. Until you have it in your hand, it belongs to them. If you expire all of the options with the local UPS hub, then you can call Lenovo to file a claim on it and ship you another notebook. Lenovo will then contact UPS, who will have a history from your calls to UPS, and it gets worked out from there.
Right now you just have to chill and give UPS some time to see if they can come up with the package. Feel free to call Lenovo however they are not going to do anything to make UPS find the box on top of what you have already done. As much as you want to find that laptop, UPS wants to find it too. If they lost it, thats $1500 (or whatever you notebook cost) right out of UPS's bottom line. This is way to early in the process to start "putting the heat on". Its been like 6 hours :rolleyes2: -

In the USA you have no worries, other than the delay. Until you actually accept delivery you do not own any part of the transaction and do not have to pay as long as you officially put it in dispute.
-
Ding? You sure it ever left China?
-
Ding says 'Thanks!'

Ding Dong, your box gone!
Sorry shouldn't make fun, I would be pissed. Just be proactive. If UPS doesn't call you back by the time they say, make sure you call. -
Has anyone else ever received an email from UPS? I never have.
I'd check some email headers. -
You can sign up for email notification with UPS.
-
Good Luck, I really hope this situation solves itself SOON!!
-
What's happening with this?
-
Doesn't sound good, 24 hours and nothing...this is becoming a cold case...
-
Or it was resolved and he didn't come back to tell us.....
-
Trust me, he/she would have told us if it had been resolved.
-
Yea if this was me i'd be screaming incoherently at someone at UPS right about now.
-
My vote is he's having so much fun with his new Thinkpad that he hasn't had a chance to get back to us... Thinking happy thoughts, hopefully this works out well.
-
yup i suppose so. Probably got his thinkpad and forgot about us. I find the Ding confused and funny when u guys said something about Ding from china, and Ding says TY. Oh well pls get back on us.
-
"Yea if this was me i'd be screaming incoherently at someone at UPS right about now."
When I received my thinkpad, I pleaded with FEDEX to leave it. They wouldn't do it.
It's so strange that UPS would leave it... and simply send an email. "It's there". -
if it was me i be having a heartattack. Maybe if ur an adult u be better calm because if ur not its a very special day to get a new laptop. So yea i still think he got his laptop and enjoying.but notice whhen he was searching for an answer, it usually was US posting instead of him.Oh well GL.
-
Are you saying you feel used?
-
how am i being used?? very confused.

Speaking of this poor person not getting their computer, my HP dv6700t just came in the mail yesterday, and, upon reading and following the Fed-Ex tracking number, it said it's a signature upon delivery. Well, I was at work today, and I get a call from one of my family members saying they woke up, and found a box saying "Intel" sitting on our front porch. They never had anyone sign for it, they just LEFT IT THERE !!! I don't know if this is normal considering I just spent almost $1500 on a laptop, just to be left out for others to steal, or what, but I was somewhat surprised in the way they just left it there. I would've rather them just left a ticket saying they would come back at another time, what do you guys think ??
Anyway, sorry man keep us informed, and I do hope you get your computer back. I would be REALLY angry if I were you. Keep pressing the issue untill you get it resolved !
Good luck !

This was my first thought. Most things i have had delivered to my place required me to print out and sign a release form for the driver. I had to tape this form to the door for the driver to take. It basically releases them from all obligation and allows them to leave the product, otherwise they say that they would not. They always took the form.
I think in this case it looks like the product was either delivered to the wrong address and someone signed for it and kept it or someone saw the deliver coming to his place and pretended to live there and sign for it. Thats my guess.
Either way there should be a better way to handle this by all delivery companies. Times have changed. People actually knew who they were living next to, not anymore.
-
It all really depends on who your FedEX driver or UPS driver is. If they follow the codes and regulations they actually do their job they are supposed to wait for a physical person to sign for the package. But like stated with the "intel" signature it really implies that the driver signed for it himself at yours doorstep while dropping it off.
-
One of the things I did learn is that the drivers are not paid for a delivery untils it's delivered, so the delivery companies set up incentives for these things to occur.
Signed by "Ding" no package on my doorstep
