A silver paint started to come off from a round X61s keyboard key that controls sound volume. So now it looks not silver but dirty grey.

I dunno the reason, probably a scratch, but anyway... It annoys me quite much, but I'm greedy to buy a new keyboard just for this button. Futhermore, the problem is I was unable to find a russian keyboard on Ebay (and I need a russian one).

So... Can I somehow fix that? I really want the button to look silver again. Probably I can paint? Did anyone do that?

    Thanks for replies.

you could use a silver enamel paint to fix this, make sure you test a little bit first before you apply all of it.

seems it would be very hard to find the same color that would 100% match, guess $30 for a keyboard is OK ;)

Does anyone know if I can remove buttons from a new keyboard and plug into an old one?
