Guys I have a new-to-me L560 which I hear is quite reliable, but I"m having trouble powering it up. It has an aftermarket charger. Initially it powered up OK but then I noticed the Charge LED would come on red for a minute, turn off, return at random times etc. Then it wouldn't power up at all, the light on the adapter is on all the time but again the charge indicator is sometimes on, sometimes off. If I remove battery and plug in adapter i get nothing.

I have 3 power meter/testers and am trying to test the adapter, which means the tip. I was surprised to see that the inside of the rectangular tip is all metal lined, and of course the pole/post in the middle is. IS that normal? I expected the interior to be all insulator except for the Pole. When I carefully place a probe on the middle pole +, and the - to the sleeve I get zero. When I touch + inside the metal sleeve, I get 20v.

    Pls help
    thx
    c
