    Hi,

I am looking for a laptop backpack to use in college and was wondering how big a 14.1" T61 with 9-cell battery is (can't seem to find a picture w/ 9-cell). I just placed my order for the T61 and am not sure if it's a widescreen or not (it's a WXGA+ TFT screen if that helps). A lot of backpacks say they'll fit up to a 15.4" laptop, so would my T61 be fine in any one of those?

    Any input would be appreciated.

With the 9-cell, you'd need a bag with interior dimensions of about 12" by 14". for it to fit nicely.

there is ur picture, and yes, you will be fine, most of the 15.4inches computers are about 1 or 2 inches smaller than the backpack pocket for notebook im talking about the width, so a 14 with a little more width from a battery will be super cool

Maybe I've not been checking the forums recently enough. When did a 9-cell become available for the 14.1" wide format T61?

It's been around for a long time. It was just not offered when ordering the past few months.

Interesting! It wasn't too many months ago that those of us with widescreen 14.1" T61's were lamenting that other models had a 9-cell and we didn't.

I'm curious, anyone have the 9-cell and care to post what kind of battery life you see in the real world. Do you think 6+ hours of battery life is possible with integrated graphics?
