I noticed if I set a HDD password on the boot drive of my T410 with Windows 7 x64, the resume from sleep fails. It acts like it's resuming, the fan spins, but the power light still glows slowly and no display. When I turn the HDD password, the sleep resume works fine.

I swapped out my HDD and re-installed the OS from a unmodified VLA disc, so I don't know if it's the HDD, Windows 7, or if there's actually an issue with HDD passwords and sleep resume.
Someone wanna give this a try, especially with the original HDD and Windows 7 installation?

When I power on from hibernated state, the fail safe screen appears. When I continue from the screen the hibernate file is discarded. it started appearing after I set the HD password as for you. Have you found any solution? I dont want to disable the HD password.

    Thanks
