Hey, errrr (i think i can see the answer to this not being good)

I've just put XP 64 on my x201, got the wireless and graphics driver from intel. Im not too bothered about battery as there's still a windows battery display.

However, how do i control the cpu speed without power manager? None of the lenovo drivers are written for XP 64.....

(i need 64 as thats the OS im doing my final year project work based on)

I don't think he's doing his final project on 64-bit OS's, but Windows XP 64 bit OS.

Otherwise, it's silly to use that atrocity of an OS. (WinXP64 = AWFUL. Win XP 32 bit PRO = best Windows OS before 7)

edit: Because you have an i-series chip in that x201, I don't know that software is quite developed yet to control CPU speeds. If it were a C2D, there would be tons of programs for it.

Im writing an intrusion detection system and it was originally for Windows XP (as its so well documented and security books cover it more).

I did run my project on Win 7, but when i 'attacked' it with port scanners, win 7 just blocked nearly every port.

I needed 64 bit as im doing some pretty complex maths and so XP+64.
