(Computer is an IBM ThinkPad R52)

So I finally bought myself an access point. I settled for a 3com officeConnect 11g as seemed good and all.

I configured it as well as security with 256bit WPA yade yadeyade, hooked everything up, great no problems 100% 54mbit (computer is 5 metres away).

But...somehow I only get roughly 2.5mbyte transferspeed between my laptop and my servers (10.5mbyte with the LAN).

I set the energy saving to low
I've tried fiddling around with the channels
    Tried without WPA
Downloaded the latest drivers (From IBM that is... 9.0.4.8 i think it was)

No changes whatsoever...,any ideas about why it's this slow?
Not that I do transfer much data between my laptop and the servers, but not being able to watch some of my videos kinda bothers me....
