    Hi this laptop is brand new, and slow as hell!! Takes like 5 minutes to boot up. Browser opens up like 10 seconds after I click on it, etc....

    What can be done? :confused:

    P8400
    Vista Basic
    2 Gigs ram
    160 5400 HD

    Panda internet security 2009
    ad-aware free
    CC cleaner

    seriously, its slow as balls. 6 minutes to boot, 16 seconds to open a browser window? this cant be right ....

    6 minutes ? well that is slow. somethings not right with your os i guess.

    is it still the original factory install ?
    maybe you should spent some time and completely install vista. a clean install will most likely solve your problems.

    What % of your ram is being useD?

    Also, try running hdtune to see if theres an issue with your hard drive

    It appears you have bloatware running - and your antivirus... which isn't the most critically acclaimed of all when it comes to resource usage.

    There was a guide recently posted on the main page about bloatware - you should check it out. :)

    Clean install with XP.
