    Hi,

I have an X220t with the "large" battery (FRU 42T4881). This is quite nice, however, I want to remove this bulky stuff when I just want to go to short meetings (2h or so).

So Q1: Is this battery fully compatible and the same as the original "small" battery for the X220t?

AFAIK, Lenovo incorporated the originality check for the X230t but not for the 220t...

Q2: The "large" battery not only adds volume at the back but also at the bottom: The battery is in fact "higher" than the rest of the laptop, resulting in a non-straight laptop. This makes it difficult to use the tablet mode with a different screen rotation than the normal one.
Is the "small" battery also thinner? Thinner in the sense that the height of the laptop is everywhere the same and is not slanted any longer.

    Thanks,
    divB

No, the tablets use different batteries than the non-tablet X2x0 ThinkPads. The part number for the three-cell tablet battery is 0A36316.

I believe the three-cell battery sits flush on the X220t, though I have not seen it myself. Having less cells means you obviously won't get as much battery life.

The 3-Cell is indeed flush with the chassis.

    Uff, that's bad news :(

The prices in the US are over $100 ($140 or so). In Europe I can get it at least for EUR 70, but that's still a lot :(

I wanted to buy it as secondary battery for short 1-2h meetings to have the laptop small and light. But that is too expensive ...

Yep, it's absolutely ridiculous, especially when you can find the 6-Cell at sometimes half that price.
