How do I know if I have a smartcard slot or an expresscard slot? I tried using the Part Lookup but it doesn't show me the part.

SmartCard slot should be about as thick as a credit card. ExpressCard slot is as thick as a Cardbus slot but has a oval shaped blue button with an X/Circle on it instead of a square button with a circle on it. Assuming you have your box.

If you don't have your machine yet, I'm not sure how it's listed in the parts list. I don't see it in mine either, though it may be one of the FRUs listed as mechanical subassemblies. Checking the hardware maintenance manual....

Checked the HMM, the FRU listed for SmartCard and/or ExpressCard do not show up in my parts lookup:

    42X3827 ExpressCard
    42X3829 SmartCard
