    Hello,

I am running Win 7 x64 on an x200 tablet. I have noticed that occasionally SmartAudio.exe takes up a lot of memory (right now, over 170 MB). It also seems to freeze other programs (just now, VLC). Is this normal? Has anybody else has this problem, or does anybody have a suggestion for a fix?

Also, I have noticed a program in my start up menu called RCIMGDIR.exe that appears to be a Ricoh program related to the webcam. The program itself is in a Program Files (x86) folder called RotateImage. Any idea what this does?

who did that smart audio program anyway? it's a company named Conexant, how can a audio card driver tooks 40M memory when start up? and keep growing? Lenovo should stop using their product.

Yes, I am quite surprised that this has not come up before in the forums. Perhaps it is specific to our systems. What are you running?

FYI I reinstalled the driver, and it may have eliminated the problem for me

Turns out that the problem is still present... or has come back.
It is currently taking up 205 MB of memory :(

Come to think of it... It's not even clear to me what the purpose of this program is... and a few quick Google and forum searches do not help. Does anybody know why this program is running in the background?

Conexant SmartAudio offers a few tweaks and additional sound features that the default Windows driver does not provide, but I haven't had a real need for them. If it is giving you problems, I would suggest simply removing it.

Exactly the same problem, smartaudio.exe is taking 490mb of memory! This is ridiculous. I killed the process, and so far I don't see anything wrong with sound.
