Hello guys,
long time no read/writehope all thinkpaders are doing great.
I finally decided to replace my entire setup (except the keyboard) and wanted your advise on disk setup
is the rumors about higher SSD disks space the slower it gets true? to avoid getting 1TB disk and getting 256GB main disk with 1 or 2TB HDD secondary disk?
and for my monitors setup, I'm replacing the ThinkVision L193pC and the ThinkVision L220x with something, any recommendations here? I do no gaming, just heavy office use (I'm a Linux user, so no high end graphics editing or so)
Thanks and it feels great to be back to NBR![]()

Hey:
I'm doing the same thing!
My W520 is 7.5 years old and has been an absolute beast: one of the best computer purchases ever. It's still running great apart from the fact that the battery won't hold charge so it needs to always be plugged in. However, I'm paranoid that it will die and leave me hanging for a week or two while I order and have a laptop shipped to me.
So, I just ordered up a P52 with the 35% pre-black Friday discount:
Intel i-7 8850
Win 10 pro
FHD screen (don't need 4K)
8gb ram
P3200 graphics
500 HDD
I ordered another 32GB ram and a 512GB Samsung 970 pro SSD from Newegg to go along with the machine.
Should all be here in a week or so.
Excited
So I'm replacing W520 with P52
