Hi, I just bought a T400 with a dedicated graphics. It has Windows XP on it. I booted up and it works fine. I installed Microsoft Flight Sim X and I works wonderfully. BUT I installed XMoto (a 2D game) and I stutters and has about 3 frames per second. WHY???? This has a 2.53 GHz processor, 256 MB Graphics Processor, 2 GB ram, etc. It runs better on my old T42 with integrated graphics, 1.7 GHz processor, 1 GB ram. WHY!?!?!?!? BTW I was in Dedicated Graphics mode when I tried this!!

Also, I went to the BIOS and changed it to integrated graphics mode and tried to boot. When it booted my screen was all distorted and blurry. It said something about an ATI driver (I can't remember exactly and I am in the discrete mode right now) but I think it said it was missing or something. How would I fix that or find the proper driver?

    Thanks,
    Jeff

Did it come with XP or did you install XP on it?

Probably a compatability/driver issue. Not much you can do when it comes to new hardware/old games

It came with XP. And XMoto is not an old game. There are new releases still coming out! Is there anything I can do to fix the driver issue??

    Thanks,
    Jeff

I downloaded the drivers for both graphics cards and installed them. It fixed the integrated mode and it works fine now, but I am still having problems with XMoto. I realize this isn't a very important issue but I would like to know why it isn't working and how to fix it. It runs better in the integrated mode (although not perfectly).

    Any suggestions out there??
    Thanks,
    Jeff

Try running it on XP SP2 compatibility mode.

What power management profile are you on? I would set it to Max Performance when gaming.

YES I TRIED IT WITH XP SP2 AND I HAVE THE POWER SET TO MAX. As I said Microsoft FSX works FINE and it is much more graphics intense than xmoto ( www.xmoto.com if you want to check it out yourself. It is a relatively simple game and should run fine)
