I placed the order for a z60m on 1/16. It has had a status of 'packing' and ship date of today (2/7) ever since. Anyone think it will actually ship today?

If they push it back more than a week or so, it will be cancelled.

sounds like more and more people are getting jilted at the wedding alter (aka ship date) with their Z60 notebooks, so sad.

Looking back I am thrilled now that my Z60m took so long to ship and eventually I canceled it. Now I have a refurbished X31 and I love it (did not care for X4x series). I realize went from one extream to another but now I have a computer that I consider ultra portable and for my microsoft office needs it is perfect. In a year or so when 64 bit, dual core and Vista are up and running I'll probably look for the Z6xM again if no other manufactures are making a notebook with a half decent graphics card, track point and matte screen.

And the answer is .....

they waited until the day after my ship date to push it back another 10 days. 4 1/2 weeks is simply too long for a very ordinary notebook (I only changed the HD, Combo drive, and wireless)

    I'll be cancelling it today.

Now I have to start shopping again. Everywhere you look, there are coupons for cheap dells, but I've heard enough quality concerns to make me think twice. Maybe an HP? Toshiba?

    /Edit
I'm wavering now. I got a **** good price on this notebook (under $1000).

Mine is worse than yours... order date 12/25, 1st ship date 1/31, 2nd was 2/08, 3rd is 2/17, 4th I am guessing is August or something now.

Over 2 months wait time? DAYUM!!! I hope the wait time is only limited to the new T60 and Z60 series. If my R51 takes that long then im gonna be very upset.

Well, I cancelled my order. Based on this forum, I figured that this was only the first of several delays.

Ordered a Dell XPS M140. Better specs than the z60 was going to have, more than $100 cheaper (even though I got a student price on the z60), and it's set to ship in 1 week.

in the 5 days since I cancelled my order, the Lenovo site still says it's packing. guess I'll have to call them again.

meanwhile, the M140 has shipped already ;-)

    dammit

In the time it takes dell to take, build, test, ship, and deliver my M140, Lenovo can't get word to their facility not to ship my z60m.

6 days ago I cancelled the z60m and placed the order for the m140. I'm typing this on the dell and just got a notification that the thinkpad has shipped. BEFORE the (revised) ship date of 2/17!

    WTF?!?!?!?
