So what's this custom recovery option I hear about?

I just got my laptop yesterday.

Threw in my new 160GB drive to replace the 60 they had and when I went to use the recovery discs, it did everything for me - no options whatsoever!

What this means is I got all this crap I didn't want:

    Norton. ( :( I feel dirty)
F'ing stupid recovery partition taking up Primary 1 partition.
One big ass partition for the rest.

What're my options to fix this crap? I haven't installed anything yet on my own so I'm not worried about wiping out and starting over. I don't have an upgrade anytime disc since that would be too simple to have gotten from lenovo.

I'm not against doing the lenovo install since it has all the crap done already, I just wouldn't mind the option of NOT installing some of the programs.

    Thanks
