    Hi everyone

This is my first time posting here, so I apologize if this is the wrong place for such question, and I would gladly take advice of where to post my question.

I'm on Thinkpad T400 with a built in wimax adapter and Windows 7 64 bit. My connection keeps dropping every few minutes and then quickly reconnect again, but its actually very annoying especially if you are doing something that require constant internet connection. My ISP tech support have no clue. I have noticed that whenever I'm downloading some files or I'm streaming videos online it stay connected, but i don't do that very often, so my question is that if there is any software that will keep my connection alive by say pinging google DNS or an IP Address. I have found "Stay Connected 1.0" but I'm a bit hesitant to use it since i don't think it even supports Windows 7.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated :)

I'd suggest looking into the powersave settings for the card. This reeks of the OS doing too aggressive powersaving on your card.

I had to do the same for my BT and WiFi connections.

Thanks for the suggestion, however, I have already tried that and it has no effect on it. Any other thoughts?

I think there's the same sort of problem with EVDO, so you can start here: How do i stop the connection from going dormant? : EVDOforums.com

and I guess try some of the things they are talking about, or try searching "evdo keep connection alive" or "evdo keep from getting dormant" (I don't have any WWAN connection so I can't help you from my experience)

Thanks jaakobi, the link you provided proved somewhat useful to my quest, Unfortunately the tools mentioned there and through more Google search are all made for Windows XP. I have found some work around by keeping my bit torrent client running in the background whenever I need a constant connection, it takes away a bit of my bandwidth but at least i get what I want :)
