I have been pulling my hair out the past couple of days! Firefox suddenly started crashing when viewing certain websites. I narrowed it down to javascript & pop-up windows. I tried un-installing and re-installing firefox several times but the problem continued. Finally, I found the answer in a Mozilla forum. Disable the "Thinkvantage Password Manager" extension in Firefox. (Tools / Add-ons). Apparently, a recent update from Lenovo broke this functionality. Fortunately, I don't use it anyway.
I hope this helps someone else who is experiencing this problem. I know I was getting very frustrated.
