I placed an order for T61~14.1"WXGA+ yesterday 7.26.07 via Lenovo.com est ship 14 Aug.

    Just out of curiosity...

    1) will it come with the old IBM logo or the new Thinkpad one!

    2) will It come with the LG or Samsung display? does that depend on anything config? model?....etc?

    3) Est Shipping 14 Aug...is this ESD fairly accurate? or should I expect a major delay?

    Thanks in advance!!!!!! :)

    1) The old IBM logo for sure.
    2) Theres no way to tell, its all about what they have in stock at the factory the day of manufacturing. But both screens have their advantages. The samsung has a lot less light leakage problems. Atleast mine is very good with that.
    3) No way to tell really, if all your parts were in stock when you ordered it. You can almost bet it will ship before than. Those dates are very conservative. Mine shipped out a few weeks before the ESD.

No, all Thinkpads have matte screens.

No. This is a business notebook, and real business users do not use glossy because they are insanely reflective. Employees need to focus on their work, not on their faces and overhead fluorescent lights. If you're not serious about business and overall just not serious about anything, get a Macbook.

    LOL :D @ Johnny

I'M SO HAPPPPPY!!! NEVER WANTED THE GLOSSY ONE! YUCK!! I'M SO GLAD!
I'm actually buying this for my small business, but one of my vendors told me that 90% of the new notebooks including "lenovo" come with glossy screens and that most likely I'll end up getting the glossy one! which I never wanted!

When I was browsing the site the WXGA+ option had the "this may delay shipment by 3-4 weeks" message next to it. Judging from your est. ship date (mine was 8/15 when I requested a quote) it seems like they have WXGA+ screens in stock, at least for now.
Whether I want 1440x900 vs 1280x800 is a different story altogether... I feel like the 1280x800 on the MacBook is already too small, so I might not want to get something even finer in detail.
Couple things I'm considering besides the screen:
    1. Worth it to pay around $40 extra for the 2.0Ghz w/ 4MB L2 cache?
    2. Bluetooth is an additional $20-something, worth it?
    3. 80 GB HDD is around $9 more than 60GB. Comes out to $0.45 per gig... probably not worth it, right?

Macbooks suck. Macbook Pros are good.
