    So I'm having some issues.

One is that I'm trying to disable ALL system sounds on my laptop. I went into windows sound options and disabled all system sounds but now when outlook gets a new mail I get this horribly loud sound that sounds like its a hardware sound. Not from outlook. Like the sound when you plug in the power cable?

    Also video issues.

If I do a dual display extended desktop my computer is basically locked into that mode. If I close my display to go into sleep mode, when I open it back up I get the blue screen of death. Also If I just try to get it off the extended display it will do the same thing.

Also my screen will randomly just turn black. I get the screen back on by hitting fn+f7 twice.

So I was hoping someone here could help me out a bit.

    Thanks!

Can you describe the problem that lead you to disable the system sound? You didn't really provide any specifics.

Also, for your video problems you can try the following, depending on your hardware (that info would be useful too):

    1) ensuring graphics drivers are up-to-date using ones provided on manufacturer's website
    2) downloading modified drivers such as those from www.laptopvideo2go.com (assuming you have an Nvidia GPU).

Disable system sounds by booting into bios - hold F1 during startup.

I don't know about the monitor issues - maybe try uploading your drivers.

It would also help to know what kind of Lenovo laptop you have. I assume you have a Thinkpad of some sort since you have fn+f7.

I believe Lenovo has recently released updated graphics drivers (might still be in beta) to address the issues people are having with external displays, resuming from suspend, etc.
