Somehow, I managed to snag a very great deal off of my local Craigslist a couple of weeks ago: I bought a Lenovo 1.8" FDE 256GB SSD(with 2.5" adapter) for only $100. The seller cloned my existing X200's drive to it and it seems to be functioning perfectly.

However, I'm really thinking about moving the drive over to my T500, which I'm using significantly more than the X200 as of recently. When I do this I'm going to nuke the drive and do a fresh installation of Win7. Since the drive has FDE, my question is would I still benefit from something like BitLocker on this drive, or is it totally unnecessary?

Also, is there a way to do a secure erase on this SSD while in Windows, if I just stuck it into my Ultrabay drive adapter, or am I best off using something like PartedMagic to do everything?

I thought the intel SSD Toolbox was only for intel SSDs.

That's what it says. I have the Samsung 256GB drive for my ThinkPad.

However, this is a useful, welcome tool as I have an X25-M in my G73. :D
