1. If I want to buy a new HDD for my T-60, what are the specs? I took a quick look at seagates website and i'm all confused. Like it lists interfaces, Ultra ATA/100 and SATA 1.5 gb/s.
2. Does anyone havea 7200 RPM HDD in their laptop and how does it feel weightwise? Heat? Performance?
3. How come when I do shutdown computer and i close my lid, my computer goes into like sleep mode? Can i fix this?
Thanks!

1. I believe only SATA 5400/7200 are compatible with T60 ( http://www-307.ibm.com/pc/support/site.wss/document.do?lndocid=MIGR-62755)
2. From what I read in this forum, they're great. Wickedly Fast. Heat and noise is almost unnoticeable.
3. Check you Global Power Settings in the Power Manager...
I hope the above info are helpful... -
The T60 uses SATA.
It has better performance and more heat. It weighs the same.
You are going start>shutdown>turn off? -
yea im going through start-> shutdown, also, does that mean i can buy a seagate hd?
-
There are four options when you get the to the shutdown window.
-
Yes you can get the Seagate hard drive.
-
If you close the lid too fast, the sleep overrides the shutdown....if you wait until the OS has gone to a screen with just the "Windows is shutting down..." dialog, you should be ok to close lid.
-
so this hard drive would work correct?
Momentus 7200.1 100 GB SATA 1.5Gb/s 7200 RPM 10.5 ms avg NPC -
Yes, I have it in my T60 right now. Believe it or not, the system is noticably faster with the 7200.1 than the stock 5K100.

Right, basically the computer is set to going into sleep mode when you close the screen. So when you click 'shut down' and then close the screen, it goes into sleep mode before it has a chance to shut down. You have two options. Either wait a few seconds more before closing the lid, or make it so your computer doesn't go into sleep when you close it. To do this, go into power manager --> global power settings, and select 'no action' in the 'lid closed' section.
