No, I wouldn't really worry about it. Lenovo has not issued a recall or anything. Although, I did read something about how more companies may have the same problems since they also used certain Sony batteries.

Either way, the chances of your Sony battery catching on fire is slim to none.
I am gald I have Sanyo battery in mine!

It's not like Sanyo Li-ion batteries were not recalled.

According to this article, there are fundamental obstacles in battery technology. QC issues in manufacturing could lead to short-circuit, heating, and fire. I think other battery manufacturers
    face the same challenges.

Just becuase Lenovo hasn't issued a recall doesn't mean there is nothing to worry about. Yes the chances of Sony battery catching on fire is slim to none, but if it happens to you that's 100%...a lawsuit waiting to happen.

If it wasn't that serious Dell wouldn't need to recall 4.1 Million batteries. Lenovo as well as other OEM manuf. use Sony Cell batteries which "MAY" catch on fire. Lenovo released a press release saying that their system is strickly monitored by their software and will disconnect if anything is wrong. They say their batteries are safer becuase they have a longer charge rate to lower temp. So they are no recalling anything.

If there was a .00001% failure rate in a cars brake system or airbag system, do you think they will recall it?
