I'm having a rather unusual problem. My newly purchased Lenovo 3000 C200 is making strange cracks and popping noises whenever sound is played. This doesn't just happen through the internal speakers, but also headphones too.

I first became aware of the problem playing some MP3s -- the sound would play alright for a few seconds, then there'd be a pop or an echo. Afterwards, I noticed this sound in the startup chime when Windows desktop loads.

Now, the weird part is that this only happens when I have WIFI enabled. No WIFI, and the sound is fine. Enabled, the pops and echoes return. Is there some kind of conflict here? Interference? I come from a Mac background, so many of these problems are somewhat new to me.

I was wondering if anyone has experience similiar? Or could perhaps point me in the right direction? It isn't a serious issue, but it's something I'd like to try and fix myself before returning it.

    Cheers.

That is a rather unusual problem. 1) Try re-installing the drivers for the sound. Check Lenovo Website for the drivers.
    2) May be hardware issue, in which case contact Lenovo asap and tell them about this issue. Because it happens when wifi is on only, i'm thinking it could be hardware. Your motherboard may need to be replaced.
