Hi,
specced a t60 with:
1.66 ghz core 2 duo (for battery life)
14.1"( 1400x1050)
1GB ram
80GB HDD
9-Cell
x1300 64MB
Bluetooth
came out to nearly 1,600 CAD or 1,400 USD
BAsically guys, sound like a good deal or not? Especially any canadians, whats your opinion?
BTW: Would you guys say Santa Rosa is worth holding out, (i need a laptop for my trip im taking)...but the Robson technology of Santa Rosa sounds very promising, would you guys say pull the trigger or wait?
Also do you think the x1300 is enough to run windows vista in aero mode?
Thanks

Sounds like an alright deal, just so you know the speed of the processor *doesn't* affect battery life, especially when clocked down. If you need a laptop, get it now. Tech is always getting better, cheaper and faster. I really like my t60, FWIW. You are aware that the 9 cell sticks out the back of the computer somewhat, right?

What model number is that machine?

How can a processor at a higher clock speed not affect power consumption at all?
BTW The model # of this sucka is 2623K5U
Also BTW: it dosent say that this model carries 802.11 wireless, maybe they have atheros instead of intel? Also does this model have a fingerprint reader.
Thanks -
Also found this model 2623K8U ,
for 1,844 CAD or 1,630 USD you get the core 2 duo bumped to 1.83Ghz, a DVD burner upgrade and a 15 inch flexview screen.
IS the extra cost ( 244 CAD, 230 USD) justified in your opinions great ones?
Thanks -
Well my young shopper, there is a significant difference in those two machines. A 15.4" screen vs 14.1" screen and the dimensions and weight to go along with them. Ask yourself how portable you need to be. Flexview is really good for sharper viewing angles, and the difference in processor is going to miniscule, both have 2MB L2 cache. DVD burner, well if you need it, bare in mind one can be had for <$100 these days (external).

Which website are you going through to configure and price those machines?

visaperks.ca,

That is good.
Sound like a good deal?
