Hey everybody, just recently had a problem with my 1 yr old Lenovo/IBM thinkpad Z60m (1gb RAM, 100gp HDD, no sound card, ATI Mob Radeon X600)
Think this is a hardware problem. Whenever I bend the screen (monitor) to a different angle, there would be a static noise and any sound would get cut off from then on, no sound output whatsoever. This also happens when I press slightly on either side of the laptop where the beehive looking speakers are, sound output would get cut off untill I restart.![]()
I have a 3 yr warranty and I've called Lenovo's phone services, they weren't very helpful. But if I can't fix this myself then I'll send it for a replacement.![]()
Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

I'm not sure. I've never heard of anything like this happen before. The best thing to do is to generally send it back and NOT DO ANYTHING YOURSELF TO TRY AND FIX IT - it can often do more harm than good as it invalidates the warantee.
I hate these support places - sometimes they're good but mostly they're not!
Sorry I couldn't be of more help. Maybe someone else will come to the rescue who's been in this exact situation. Oh and welcome to the forum! -
Thanks, I won't touch my laptop. My house would get pretty bored pretty fast...
I've tried a few times but whenever I reach the point where I can speak to an actual person it plays music on me and tells me to hold untill I burst a vein and hang up...
Thank you
