OK, I have a Z61t and I love it. However I got speakers for it, but the hassel is that the place to plug them in is on the front and it seems to get in the way. Is there any thing I can do? I was thinking of buying an external sound card? Are there any cheap ones or suggested ones? Do these work that well? I got midlevel Creative Inspire speakers for only 50 bucks so I dont need something super fancy.

Pretty much the only PCMCIA sound card that I ever hear anything about is from Creative.

Another option is to buy USB powered speakers. Logitech makes a few different speakers designed for laptops.

If you want to deal with just the cord in front, the best you could do is buy, have it custom-made in you local electronics shop, an extension cable with L-type male jack so it wouldn't be extended too much in front.. :)

A sound card installed in the PCMCIA slot functions the same as if you installed a sound card in the PCI slot on a desktop. It's going to offer improved sound quality and sound performance over the stock integrated audio.

PCMCIA soundcards can be state-of-the-art, as the
