Hello, I've got a refurbished Thinkpad T42 and I got it with the function of being able to type different letters of non-English alphabets like ó, ä, ì, ñ, etc. I find this function very useful, considering I write in three different languages. Is there a specification or a guide on the full list of letters I can use? I must admit I have not installed any additional languages on the Windows XP language bar.
I tried to configure my keyboard with the Keyboard Customizer Utility, but I can only specify the use of Special characters like £ and ®, but not letters.
Thanks.

I assume you are typing in english, spanish and ....ukranian (hence the "ì")?
The easiest way is to install the different language settings for the keyboard in the "Regional and Language Options" in the "control panel", enable the toolbar and the keyboard shortcut to change the keyboard setting.
Or you could leave the "Character Map" open all the time and just look for the letters there. -
If you use the latin alphabet only, then an International keyboard layout will let you type latin letters that have the ` ' ~ ^ "
just press the one you want and then the letter : ï, é,è, etc. -
FYI in 'Polish keyboard IT' (means US keyboard)
but without "Keyboard Customizer Utility"
[AltGr Key] means [grey Alt] or [right Alt] + letter as below
aszxcnloe respectively
ąśżźćńłóę
capital letter [grey Alt + Shift] or [grey Alt + CapsLk]
ĄŚŻŹĆŃŁÓĘ
but [grey Alt + u] means
Special letters and characters
