Hi i would like to ask if using the intergrated graphic card and the performance is set to the maximum. will the speed of the computer loading slow down, or still be at the 2.66ghz.|

i also have another issues about the resolution. I am currently using W500. and when i use the Ati FireGlv5700. its normal resolution is 1680X1050.
But when i reduce it to 1280X1024, the screen size just shrink, instead of taking the whole space of the screen. thus leading to the sides part to be black.

But when i change back to the Intergrated graphic card and changes the resolution to 1280X1024, the screen dosent shrink or whatsoever. its like it stretches.

this happens to me when i play games eg. dota. when using the Ati graphic it just shrinks again, but after using the intergrated graphic cards, it became normal. I have tried adjusting the game's resolution but to no avail. But the intergrated graphic just works out fine. So is there a way to prevent the shrinking of my screen during dota and the destop when i use the ATI graphics.

    Ans my doubts pls.

Regarding the screen not stretching on the ATi card, have a look through Catalyst Center options. There is an option for stretching somewhere there.

Also, which graphics card you use does not affect the speed of your CPU.

Usually if it is not stretching, this means that under ATI Catalyst Control Center, the "preserve aspect ratio" option is checked.

If you open the AIT CCC under the Advanced section, go to Notebook Panel Properties, under Attributes you can change the setting to Full Screen. Keep in mind though, this will ruin the aspect ratio, things will appear stretched out, since the W500 has a widescreen display.

Yes, open power manager and go to the advanced tab and click on Battery. From there you can click on Battery Maintenance and click on custom charge thresholds. Another thing you can do is simply right click on the green battery icon facing to the right in the left most section of your system tray and open the menu that says "change battery thresholds," and it'll take you straight to the setting where you can set it to whatever you want. I keep mine from 20 to 37.

so we can just plug in the battery and just on the charger w/o worrying of the battery being overcharged?

Yes. I'm almost always on AC power and my battery is always plugged in, but it's not charging unless it falls below 20%.

The computer will only use battery power if the computer is disconnected from a power outlet.

hm. so it means when my lap is attach to the power outlet still having the batteries attach. it will charge the battery first until 100% right? Then afterwards. Which power does it use?, the battery or from the power supply. Because i do not want to overcharge my battery :)

It will only charge to 100% if you set it to charge to 100%. If you set it to charge only to 40% then as soon as the battery reaches 40% the power supply will only be AC immediately after reaching 40%.

If you set it to charge to 100%, then when it reaches 100% battery as long as you are still plugged in, your battery will no longer be charging, or overcharging. You will only be on AC power, ie the wall charger, not the battery.
