Hi, I was wondering if this is a common nuisance.

Everytime I put my T60 to standby, there would be a beeping sound and it keeps beeping occassionally while it's on standby. When it comes out of standby, there would be another beeping sound.

I disabled this beeping by going to thinkvintage -> power managerment -> global power management -> turn off beep when power source is changed.

My question is this. When my machine goes to standby or comes out of standby, I didn't change the power source (ie. plug the AC power on or off), so why would there be beeping sound?

Anyone else experience this? Is this an indication that something is wrong?

Did you also uncheck the box in the power manager that says 'beep until completed'?

The beep sound on the T60 when closing the lid and going into standby is normal and is not indicative of any hardware or software problem :)
