I've heard that the performance improvement from Turbo Memory for people with a 7200 rpm drive is neglible. Is there any noticeable difference for system startup or resuming after hibernation with Turbo Memory?

If bootup times arent faster now, they will be when the turbo memory drivers mature...
While the 7200 drive is darn fast, I've also heard that users still experience an speed increase opening programs and whatnot.
If you think turbo memory is worth it for the 5400rpm drives, I dont think jumping to a 7200 will cause the turbo memory to only make a negligible difference - while fast, the 7200 drives aren't THAT much faster.
With that said, when we talk about turbo memory - we are really only talking about saving a few seconds on a good day anyhow. -
^^^ ditto. I have turbo memory. If I had to do it all over again, I'd get Turbo Memory again because it is a cheap upgrade and I hope that drivers and/or Vista SP1 might improve the performance benefit. I'm not suffering any reduction in performance with it.
Now if I would have spent $200 for turbo memory I would NOT be happy and would regret the purchase. -
Well said.

Sometimes I do regret Turbo memory because it could definitely be a cause for system instability. I'm hoping the technology will mature quickly as it still does have a lot of potential. I'm not keeping my hopes up though because Intel is notoriously slow at releasing drivers.

I'm back on XP Pro right now. It's more mature and boots up faster than Vista too. I won't be switching back to Vista in a while. As a lot of people have said, there isn't anything XP can't do that Vista can.
