This static read-only archive was pulled by NBR forum users between January 20 and January 31, 2022, in an effort to make sure that the valuable technical information that had been posted on the forums is preserved.     Ever since I went from Vista to XP I have being hearing this static noise on my laptop when it plays sounds. Do you think this is a speaker issue or a driver/software issue?

    I would check drivers since this only started happening under XP.
