If Iskeys is asking for EPP info, he just wants permission from someone who has an EPP account. Iskeys can use the EPP info as a "friend" of the gracious forum user. Stop posting uneducated thoughts. Closing the thread so your mistake can't be revealed isn't cool either. Quite the totalitarian move as there was absolutely no cause to close a thread that had only 2 posts in it- far from containing any drama or flaming.

Even SkiBunny, an IBM employee on these forums, helped random people here she didn't know with her own EPP information. It's perfectly fine.

 

I took a look at the link and tried to check the conditions. Personal friends are not defined as far as I could find. So that leaves it up to the individual both morally and legally IMO. I would warn that giving out your IBM ID # could be dangerous. Once it is out there you may have no control and it could be exploited, explaining to IBM bosses would not be fun. Unless they cross check and confirm with the employee your 25 units could be snatched up very fast.

I agree this thread should not be shut down, knowledge is power. Censorship is tyranny!

 

I did say PM me. Also, the Meyers discount was use by countless people in this forum purchasing T61's during the Memorial say. So, someone please PM me with the log in info before the end of the 4th of July sale Please

 

I say, just use the student discount on the education page. That one doesn't need confirmation. Unless you have some coupon that would only work with epp it really isn't necessary.

 

EPP is a lot better than Student discount. Was about 15% during Memorial Day Sale.

 

I mean absolutely no disrespect to you personally but if I read this correct your PM comment makes no difference to what I said, I would always be cautious PM included with personnel info. That said I wish you luck and if all goes well for both it is a good thing!

 

I have IBM EPP access and can tell you that there's no 4th of July sale right now. There's a shareholder's account that's floating around that you can use but won't give you as great of a discount.

 

I hope there's a sale coming mid July or something (I'm moving to dorm on August 18th). Hopefully, the sale along with the T61p is made available before I die.

 

Friends and family are encouraged to use the EPP program. Employees get emails that include:

"Don't forget to forward this to your family and friends." With a reminder to give your family and friends your serial number and last name.

 

I was just really annoyed how Night_2004 responded with misleading information and even had the nerve to close the thread. What the hell was that about?

If the thread is even that much in danger of degenerating into a flame-fest, why even respond? Just close the thread. Quite arrogant to just put in a last word like that if the thread topic is that inappropriate.

Plus, Knight_2004 have issued 2 or 3 infractions against me. Some personal antimosity from Knight_2004 seems to be brewing toward Me.

Well I did not notice his reponse to my request on the other Thread until I saw your thread. Then I remembered I kept seeing the Knight_2004 name with sarcasm toward me on all his post. Then I remember Knight_2004 posting some infractions against me. Kind of strange.
