I'm looking at the new L340 17" model as a replacement budget/multimedia laptop for the wife and kids.
With the current promo and 10% ebates the Ryzen5 3500U model is very appealing.
The only thing I'm not sure about is the internal storage options. Both available configs come with an SSD but 256Gb will not be enough space for the current use (I need around 450Gb) and I can't find anywhere on google the info regardings addittonal storage bay. I'm guessing there is probably an HDD slot available but can anyone confirm this ?
The model is too recent to have full reviews available and my google-fu is letting me down.
What little reviews I found are for the L340-Gaming version and I'm not sure the internals are the same.

I read somewhere that the cable for HDD is under the SSD, but the guy who made the mod, got the cable and connect to a HDD and it didn't work (BIOS not recognized).

Given that 1TB NVMe are now around 100-130$ for a budget-ish model, just wait for black friday and grab a Crucial P1, or a Kingston A2000 for less than 100$ and be done with the storage, and it will be faster than an HDD, and use less power.

Hopefully i'm not toooooo late to this thread and hope my personal upgrading experience helps...
This is my L340-17 non gamer INTEL system. And i did my own upgrading pretty easy... just plug in the SSD to the bay does the job. The additional self upgrade cable thing i believe applies to the gaming model. Which numbers of buyers in my country claims to be missing from their shipment package...
