I got my T410 about a month ago with the WXGA+ screen. Every once in a while, the display will start to wash out for a couple minutes or until i open and close the lid a few times. I have provided a couple pictures of the problem. The first picture is the display when it is normal and the second picture is when it gets washed out. It is pretty obvious when it happens, as you can see in the picture. Anyone know what the problem could be? If you guys do not have any suggestions, I will contact Lenovo about this. Thanks

Also, the brightness is at the same level in both pictures and changing the brightness does not fix the problem

Do you have the intel integrated graphics? Don't remember where i read it, but seems like the culprit is the power saving settings for the intel graphics. Try disabling the power saving modes for the intel graphics and see if that fixes it.

Yes I do have integrated graphics. I disabled the power saving and hopefully I do not experience this issue again. Thanks!

Yes, that's the case most likely. It could be worse IMHO. I had it with the new
M17X laptop and disabling/changing the power saving mode fixed it.
Eventually, new video/chipset drivers will address it.

I occasionally had this issue with my T500 in Windows Vista - the culprit is indeed the Intel GMA's power saving features.
