Hi, I bought a R61 about 3 months ago and so far I love it. But, there is this annoying light beeping sound comming from it all the time, I think its from the hard drive. It sure as hell isnt from the speakers because I muted them and it still does the beeping. Its faint and not very loud but when I'm in the quiet its annoying as S***!

Please help me, I think its associated with the hard drive light

Perhaps its an acoustic characteristic of the drive.... What model is it (check device manager) -- guessing Seagate or Hitachi. If it's Hitachi, there is a tool that lets you tune performance and acoustic parameters that may eliminate it.

Hey, I had this problem too.

Here's a solution, except .. perhaps ... it's crashing the computer, though I'm not sure.

But at least it fixes the beeps. Not sure yet if it makes me crash.. but I think it isn't making a lot of other ppl crashing so maybe you're lucky
