I dont know if this problem has been addressed before, I looked but I didnt see anything that matched.

Just recently my headphone jack from my Lenovo 3000 N100 has started to make a high pitched whine noise, it has never made this noise before the last three or four days. It sounds a lot like the feedback that I would get when I turned on my mic and turned the volume up loud (however my mic is not on, in fact it is muted). This sound is continuous and is not affected by the volume control at all. I can mute or turn the sound up as loud as I like and it continues to make this noise.

I have already tried replacing my headphones and that is not the problem. Also I cannot hear it through the regular speakers, they still sound clear, it is only through the headjack that I can hear this noise.

Any suggestions or comments as to why this is or what I could do to fix this would be extremely helpful. Thanks in advance!
