Should be accessible right from lenovo.com
Click on Government & Education under "Solutions For:" then click on "Higher Education Products & Information" and then under "Personal Purchases" select your program -
Better solution is Lenovo's CPP (Contractor Purchase Program) link.
EDIT: Sent you a PM. Worth reading. -
For example, my grad school offers a T400 config for $1264 including 4 year onsite warranty & Thinkpad Protection (accident coverage); I just set up the identical T400 config on CPP and the total is $1647 with the matching warranty, $1192.55 with the base 1yr send-to-the-depot warranty. So effectively you get the 4yr accident onsite warranty upgrade for $70.
With that said, this sort of special bundle isn't through the lenovo.com site like I'd described above; frankly I'd forgotten about these bundles when I wrote my previous answer. For my school there's a school-specific code you have to enter at https://www.directlenovo.com/customer/login.cfm? that you get via the campus bookstore. -
While I admit that I didn't purchase a large warranty (I plan to upgrade the warranty down the road before it expires), my T400 cost me $880 (not including tax) with most of the toys using CPP and a 5% coupon code Lenovo listed. I couldn't beat that no matter what options/coupons I tried.
It saved me enough money to easily add additional RAM and a large hard drive after the fact. -
How do the CPP and Student discounts compare to the EPP discount?
-
My understanding is that EPP trumps all. However, you need to know a Lenovo employee.
CPP is the next best one I know. Student probably after that, and Visa Discount program is either similar to, or slightly weaker, than student. Note though, what Lew mentioned. Some universities have a special arrangement through their school bookstore. These probably allow for less customization, but do allow good discounts on a number of pre-configured models.
I bought my T61 through the Visa program a year and a half ago, but at a time when coupons were stackable on top of Visa. I was able to use the program, plus a 15% coupon, plus another 5% coupon. I haven't seen the Visa program work with coupons recently. -
Outside of such very specific deals, CPP is generally the best path for anyone who doesn't know an IBM employee.
